THE INCREDIBLE HULK #5

[ THIS IS MY DISCOUNT
The worst emotion ever is desperation. It's like a longwinded and monotonous radio station. Hulk knows this as a fact - but Bruce is just whack - and that is why he is forming his own nation. True Story - as told to me by Writer: Jason Aaron; Artist: Whilce Portacio; and Publisher: Marvel Comics in March 2012.

So what’s the STORY morning glory?
Now 'two' is the theme of this second part of 'Hulk Vs Banner'. As it is a two strand tale with two additional questions slammed in at the end of it, or else a radioactive Monkey with throw it's sh*t at you.

THEN: A couple of weeks ago the Hulk goes to see a shrouded figure so that this person can separate him from Bruce Banner once and for all. In turn, the shrouded figure agrees to carry out this task, just as long at the Hulk does something for him in turn.

This ploy work - because after a strange operation, Bruce Banner and the Hulk are two separate people for the first time in ages. Dr Doom is very happy about this (no apparent relation to Amanda Von Doom).

NOW: Please note, the continuing battle between Bruce Banner and the Hulk is a most peculiar affair indeed. You see, one by one, each of these men do very similar things to get the upper hand in this joust.

For example, they both get the opposing parties defences to turn their back on their 'team', and then fight alongside them against the other. In stages, this works as well - until Hulk and Banner are one on one for the next round of their fight.

QUESTIONS: (1) What did Hulk have to do for Doctor Doom as payment for his 'operation'? (2) Hulk Vs Banner round two, who will win?

What is the most memorable SENTENCE OR CONVERSATION spoken in this issue?
Oh! A lot to choose from in this tale if truth be told. Though I have to admit, I did find it funny when the monkey threw its ka-ka in Hulks face, and he mused "Just when you think things can't get any worse, you get hit in the face with radioactive monkey crap".

Short, sweet, and smelly to read, ha!

What was the BEST thing about this issue?
Personally speaking, the best section for me was the whole 'Dr Doom operation sequence'. Well, unlike the battle, it gave away a big chunk of how Banner and Hulk split. Plus, in addition to this, it may also answer the question as to why Banner is such a nut-job at the moment.

What was the WORST thing about this issue?
I was not that keen on how easy it was for the Hulk to persuade Banners gamma-powered beasts to ally themselves with him. Also, as much as I like Amanda Von Doom as a character, she did come across as a bit of a stuck up witch in this issue.

What was the most CREATIVE thing about this issue?
STORY: Although I did prefer the 'Dr Doom' section more than the fight section, I have to say that I did find it intriguing that both Banner and the Hulk were playing the same game with each other amidst their battle together. Is this a subliminal plot point which is deliberate you think? I hope so, for both their sakes. Reunite!!!!!

ART: I am sorry to say that Whilce Portacio's art isn't really 'gelling it' for me on this book presently. Granted, his panels are clearly illustrated. It is just that his line work does appear a bit rushed at times, messy even. Sorry Whilce - but I did like your monkey if that's any consolation.

If you had to CAST TWO CHARACTERS in this comic book, who would they be and why?
IGOR: Have you seen Macaulay Culkin recently? If you have, all you have to do is slap some maternity padding on his back, give him a limp, and he would look the spit of this poor mutilated man.

THE RADIOACTIVE MONKEY: Now there is only one person of a diminutive stature that I know who has the balls to throw sh*t at the Hulk. Verne Troyer, correct?

If this issue had a MOVIE TAG LINE, what would it be?
Please Take Your Health Insurance Cover Seriously, Or Else Dr Doom Will Come At You With An Adamantium Chainsaw.

If this issue were a MOVIE, an OBJECT, or a piece of MUSIC, what would that be and why?
OK, so this issue was one half fight, and one half operation, correct? Well, I cannot tell a lie, it's Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' for me all the way.

Well, both Hulk and Frankenstein are green, huh? Especially in the Boris Karloff black and white version, ha!

FINAL thoughts...
OK, so the art in this issue did not take my fancy. So what! The rest of it was a really good read, and this series does show the promise of an intriguing future - especially now that Doctor Doom has shown his face.

By the way, can anybody tell me why he has an all white costume now? Has he suddenly become a member of the K.K.K. or something?
