THE LAST PICTURE SHOW - IF IT BLEEDS WE CAN KILL IT!

Picture the Scene. England. Round about lunchtime. And there are two chaps down the local pub, trying to think about how they can impress the birds. So what do they come up with? Huh? Would it be to: (A) Dress up in drag and then punch Cheryl Cole in the face. (B) Recite the 'Parrot Shop' sketch from Monty Python in Chinese. (C) W*nk. Or (D) Create a fantastic podcast that touches upon movies, comic books, and whatever else they might fancy. Yes! That is correct, dear reader. The answer is 'C'. For that, you win a conversation I had only the other day with my buddy, Guesty, who created a fantastic podcast with his mate Rob from down the pub.  





1) What are your own origins Guesty? Plus what path did you take in life to get to where you are today?   We met at a Adrien Brody fan fest, and bonded over a mutual love of king kong... and huge apes!

Ha! Just kidding. We started out doping indie film nights at a local pub but found a podcast was less effort.

2) What inspired you to create the ‘Last Picture Show’ podcast / website?   Love of film, chicks dig podcasters and was less effort for a greater response. Ha!

3) How did you meet up with your collaborator, Rob?   Friends for years and discovered a mutual love of ranting and being miserable British c*nts.

We were drunk!

4) If ‘LPS’ was a a piece of music, what would it be and why?   'Chocolate Rain' by Tay Zonday as we are at turns socially critical but with a high production value. And we breathe away from the microphone.

5) If you could interview any celebrity – either living or dead – on your podcast, who would you get, and why would you want to choose this particular person?   Bruce Campbell or Quentin Tarantino. They're both mental and share a love of B movies and Grindhouse, plus we can ask Tarantino what was in the suitcase!

6) If a movie was made about your podcast, what actor would play who, and again, why?   Guesty would be played by Dean Cain for obvious reasons (see Post Impact). And Rob would be played by Randy Quaid as he is also being hunted by star wackers.

It would have to be directed by Roger Corman as we too have no budget and dodgy special effects

7) What smell would you say best represent your podcast, and why would this be the case?   The smell of a full English breakfast. It is the breakfast of champions and fairly well known podcasters.

8) Off the top of your head, can you name your top five favorite movies and superheroes of all time?
For Comics it would have to be: Batman, Alpha One, Rorscach, Swamp Thing, and Kick Ass. Where as for movies it would have to be: Jaws, Blade Runner, Pulp Fiction, The Dark Knight, and Too many for 2 guys at once!

9) If your podcast had a motto, what would it be?   If it bleeds we can kill it!
