ART / WORK / LIFE - ANDRIU

Iron Man / James Bond In this weeks look at the life of a humble t-shirt designer, I would like to present you to a man who's skill and artistry in this field is second to none. Now who this 'none' person is, is anyone's guess. Although I can tell you this much. None by name, none by nature, t-shirts will always need a designer. Andriu, it's now over to you.

1) Where are you based?   I am a Spanish illustrator from Benidorm, located in Alicante.

2) What inspired you to draw?   The work of great artists, TV series, movies, comics, manga, anime, and photography. On top of that, social networks like Pinterest or Instagram are good to inspire the imagination.

3) Who is your favorite artist?   My favorite artists come from the comic book field. To name but a few I must mention Fiona Staples, Ryan Ottley, Leinil Francis Yu, Pepe Larraz, Mikel Janin, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, plus Raul Trevino.

One Punch Man Hero
4) What is your favorite subject to illustrate?   Female or male characters with strong personalities, plus zombies and monsters. Heck, I love monsters :)

5) If you could get a celebrity – either living or dead – to promote your work, who would it be?   Robert Downey Jr.

6) Besides submitting your work to Design By Humans, what else do you do for a job?   I present my work to a variety of possible sites involved in the field of graphic arts or publishing. Sometimes a personal project may arise, and I do this by replacing financial hardships with a satisfying finish.

7) Out of your designs, which one do you think is the most popular?   Characters of my own invention.

8) Why do you think this is so?   They may not be very famous, but to me they are like my little babies.

9) If you had a personal motto, what would it be?   Listen to constructive criticism and reject harmful words.
