Shoot 'Em Up GamesIt's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Not only do you take away all he's got, you'll also take away everything he's ever gonna have. Yeah. It's as simple as that really. Shooting people until they die is no laughing matter. Now I know we can jest about it when it comes down to playing video games or watching movies, but hey, let's think about what we're doing here. Bang-Bang! No More. End of story. Full stop.

If you've ever lost someone to gun crime you'll know all too well what I'm trying to get at. Using a gun is a serious business and shouldn't be taken lightly, and that is why I've teamed up with the weapon dealership, Sunderland Airguns, to tell you a little bit more about the old shoot-shoot, bang-bang!

When I was a kid I was a die hard shoot 'em up fanatic. Every day, after school, I'd rush to my bedroom and play games like Doom, Duke Nukem, or James Bond, just to see how many baddies I could shoot down, or if I could top my mates high score. More often than not, no, I couldn't really. Despite my eagerness and passion for this genre of gaming, on the whole I was pretty naff at it, largely due to me being crap at the controls.

Shoot 'Em Up Movies
Over the years, however, I noticed that the gameplay for shoot 'em ups have improved by the release. So much so, in fact, that I couldn't help but surmise which is better: movie-pow-pow or gaming-pow-pow?

You see, at the same time I was playing these games, I was also getting into gangster movies and sci-fi epics. To me, films such as The Godfather, Star Wars, Casino, Aliens, Predator, and of course, the previously mentioned James Bond series of flicks, were bleeding good because they were so bleeding accurate. More accurate than me, that's for sure! So, the other day, when Sunderland Airguns approached me for a collaboration, I came up with the following idea.

Movie or Game, which adaptation is the best? Will the adaptations do as well as the original? Will they exceed them and take the stories to whole new levels? Or will they crash and burn and never be spoken of again? Thanks to SA, here is a breakdown of the signature gun used in each of the movies / games, as well as some fun facts you may not have known about these epic titles.
