Raising Cain
John Lithgow plays three different roles in this 1992 Brian De Palma classic. Not only does he play a child psychologist named Carter, but on top of that, he also plays his evil twin brother, Cain, as well as their Norwegian father, Doctor Nix, who's a doctor that likes to experiment on the young. Obviously Carter’s wife is concerned that her husband isn’t quite paying their daughter the right kind of attention, doing so whilst having an affair which, upon discovery, threatens to send him into a psychotic rage.
A relentless blend of murder, multiple personalities, cross-dressing, crazed parents, bizarre dream sequences, and stunning cinematic assurance, Raising Cain harks back to those twin masterpieces Psycho and Peeping Tom, and is pure unadulterated De Palma at his best.

During that time Donnie, as played by Jake Gyllenhaal, will navigate teenage life, narrowly avoid death in the form of a falling jet engine, follow Frank’s maladjusted instructions, and try to maintain the space-time continuum.

Reno, as played by the infamous Abel Ferrara, is a man pushed to the edge of sanity by the economic realities of living in New York City, during the late seventies. Over time his loose grip on reality begins to slip and he takes to stalking the streets with a power tool in search of prey, tracking them down, one by one, ready to expunge his anger into their minds, into their hearts, and into their lives, one turn of the screw at a time.
A notable New York film critic once said that this was one of the most notorious 'video nasties' of it's era, in part thanks to its drill-in-head sleeve, stating that The Driller Killer has lost none of its power to unnerve and is presented here fully uncut.

Kelly, as played by TV's Daphne Zuniga, has a special initiation ritual in store for her new sorority, a ritual that involves her breaking into her own fathers department store after-hours. But as you'd expect, what begins as a night of harmless college fun turns quickly sour. Once inside the enormous mall, Kelly and her fellow pledges find themselves locked in for the night... with a deadly intruder stalking the corridors.
Arriving in 1984, The Initiation might have been late to the slasher party, but, alongside the likes of The House on Sorority Row and The Mutilator, it remains one of the stronger entries to emerge in the latter days of the slice-and-dice boom.
