20th CENTURY FOX HOME FILM RELEASES FOR MAY AND JUNE, 2017

Logan Art Over the last couple of months I've been receiving press releases from 20th Century Fox relating to their new DVD and Blu Ray's. And what have I been doing with them? Nothing. That's what. That is until today when I've finally gotten off of my backside and decided to share some with you. Now to be completely honest, I don't really know why I've waited for so long to do this, as everything they've been sending me has just been magical to go through. Yet, having said all that, in my defense, I have been rather ill and sometimes my brain turns off like a few of the characters mentioned in the following films. Wink-Wink! Can you guess which ones?

Absolutely Anything
Absolutely Anything

In this hilarious sci-fi comedy, Simon Pegg plays an ordinary schoolteacher who one day gets granted with some extraordinary powers, in order for a group of mischievous space aliens to ascertain mankind's worthiness for living on Earth. But does he know this? No. No he doesn't. He doesn't know that the fate of the entire world hangs in the balance, while he desperately struggles to control the chaos he creates with every wave of his hand.

Co-starring Kate Beckinsale and Eddie Izzard, while featuring the voice of Robin Williams, as Neil’s loyal canine companion, and the legendary Monty Python team, voicing the space aliens, 'Absolutely Anything' proves once and for all that with great power, yes, comes total irresponsibility!

Release Date: the 27th of June, 2017 / Running Time: 85 minutes / Genre: Comedy / Special Features: No / Distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The Belko Experiment
The Belko Experiment

From the writer and producer of 'Guardians of the Galaxy', James Gunn, comes the story about a group of 80 American employees who are tested in a twisted social experiment of bone-crunching horror! Normally Belko Industries is a very calm workplace, calm, relaxed, and as you'd expect, very-very dull and boring. Yet one day their employees get a rude awakening when a mysterious voice on the intercom orders them to participate in a ruthless game of kill, or be killed, in a blood-soaked battle royale at their office building situated in Bogotá, Colombia. As the terror escalates, so too does the body count, so much so in fact, that everyone becomes a competitor while everyday objects become deadly weapons for them to use.

'The Belko Experiment' stars John Gallagher Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane), Tony Goldwyn (Scandal), Adria Arjona (True Detective), John C. McGinley (Stan Against Evil), Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Sean Gunn (Ordinary World), and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy).

Release Date: the 27th of June, 2017 / Running Time: 89 minutes / Genre: Thriller / Special Features: Yes / Distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Wilson
Wilson

Woody Harrelson stars as 'Wilson', a lonely, neurotic, and hilariously honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (as played by Laura Dern) when he learns that he's had a teenage daughter with her, he's never, ever, met (as played by Isabella Amara). But as you can guess, this doesn't last for long, as in that uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way of his, he sets out to connect with her, no matter what.

Based on an iconic graphic novel created by Daniel Clowes, 'Wilson' is a "riotously funny" look at life, love, family, and one man's wildly ambitious search for happiness.

Release Date: the 20th of June, 2017 / Running Time: 94 minutes / Genre: Comedy / Special Features: Yes / Distributed by 20th Century Fox.

A Cure For Wellness
A Cure For Wellness

From the director of 'The Ring' comes 'A Cure For Wellness', a tale which revolves around an ambitious young executive who's sent to retrieve his company’s CEO from a remote and mysterious “wellness centre”. But the thing is, when he gets there he begins to unravel the retreat’s terrifying secrets, and this puts his sanity to the test when he finds himself diagnosed with the same curious illness that keeps all the guests there, longing for the cure.

Featuring hauntingly mesmerizing performances from Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), and Mia Goth (Everest), overall I'd say this film is a great psychological thriller and is a must watch for all you horror fans out there.

Release Date: the 6th of June, 2017 / Running Time: 146 minutes / Genre: Thriller / Special Features: Yes / Distributed by 20th Century Fox.

Logan
Logan

Hugh Jackman’s seventeen-year run as Wolverine comes to a close with the release of 'Logan', a stand alone story which truly stands on it's own in both style and grace. You see, many years in the future, Logan finds himself looking after his ailing mentor, Professor X (as played by Patrick Stewart), as well as his feisty young daughter, Laura (as played by Dafne Keen). But of course, with Logan's life being as it is, looking after people isn't the only thing he has to contend with, especially if those who oppose him have anything to say about it.

Loosely based on the graphic novel created by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, 'Old Man Logan', and co-starring such great actors as Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal, and Elizabeth Rodriguez, and all in all, I'd say 'Logan' is a must see for any fan of either the comic book or the character itself.

Release Date: the 23rd of May, 2017 / Running Time: 137 minutes / Genre: Action-Adventure / Special Features: Yes / Distributed by 20th Century Fox.
