Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr StoryDo you know what beautiful Hollywood actress from the 1930s invented Bluetooth technology? No. This isn't a joke question. As a matter of fact, it's a very real question, and I can answer it by telling you one, notable, name: Hedy Lamarr, and I'm not referring to the evil councilman played by Harvey Korman in the 1974 Mel Brooks comedy classic, 'Blazing Saddles', because that's Hedley Lamarr, not Hedy! Hedy was the elegant actress who starred in such films as 'Samson and Delilah', opposite Victor Mature, as well as in 'Algiers', opposite Charles Boyer.

Funnily enough, she also starred in a film made in 1946 aptly titled, 'The Strange Woman', saying so because, as I just mentioned, she invented Bluetooth technology, without forgetting to add that she was the visual inspiration for Disney's version of Snow White. Now if you want to know more about this intriguing actress, which I'm sure you do, then I suggest that you pick up a copy of 'Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story', now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download. Well, without giving too much away, this 90-minute documentary features interviews with Charles Amirkhanian (composer), Jeanine Basinger (film historian), and Nino Amareno (actress), and includes never-before-heard audio tapes of Hedy speaking on the record about her incredible life: Ranging from her beginnings as an Austrian Jewish immigrant, to her scandalous nude scene in the 1933 film, 'Ecstasy', and so on, and so forth. Here, have a look at the following trailer for some more information.
