SLEEPING IN STYLE

Marilyn MonroeMarilyn Monroe once famously said, 'I only wear Chanel No. 5 in bed'. Which is fine, for her, considering she was a very veracious actress who had a couple of problems in the bedroom department. How about you? If you don't mind me for asking, what do you normally like to wear in bed? Do you prefer putting on a pair of pajamas?  Do you knock about in a negligee? Or do you just bare-all and go commando without a care in the world? Either way, it's very important to make yourself feel comfortable before falling asleep. Otherwise, you won't be able to recharge your batteries and feel rejuvenated for the next day.

Well, going back to my Marilyn Monroe example, if she was able to sleep properly then there's a pretty good chance she would've been able to think properly too! After all, a number of authorized medical professionals have proven that a lack of sleep can increase depression, exacerbate anxiety, and cause people to behave erratically and lose control. Which, unfortunately, is what eventually happened to Marilyn, poor beautiful Marilyn, and I'm sure helped contribute to her fateful demise (allegedly).

So what can we do to prevent this? What steps do we need to take in order to guarantee that we have a good nights sleep? Well, as far as I’m concerned, even though a controlled diet can reduce stress levels and increase mental stability (munch-munch), along with the use of certain relaxation techniques (breathe in, breathe out), the one thing that has constantly worked for me would have to be watching a movie, preferably a good old-fashioned movie that’s enjoyable, exciting, and full of adventure.

You see, over the last couple of years, I’ve put in place a regular nightly routine so I’m able to relax, unwind, and feel a lot more comfortable within my surroundings. This involves me: (1) Turning off my phone; (2) Taking a hot shower; (3) Putting on my PJs; (4) Dimming the lights; And (5) Sitting down in front of my television and watching a film like...
