CAN YOU FIND THE FUNKO? MARVEL'S AVENGERS EDITION

Avengers FunkoIf I told you that I knew of a website called 'Toys for a pound', do you think you would be able to guess what it does out of the following four options? I mean, does it: (One) Manufacture novelty bow ties for a dog's home. (Two) Teach people how to say the word, 'woo-woo-wi-wah', without laughing. (Three) Encourage frivolity. Or (Four) Sell a vast array of toys and collectibles for one-hundred English pence. Go on, have a guess, and if you come up with the right answer, I promise to let you know about another game I've created. Well, to be fair, I didn't create it all by myself, per se, because I also had some help from toysforapound.com, who are an online toy shop which sell a vast array of toys and collectibles from Marvel, DC Comics, Pokemon, and Funko, to name but a few, all within the range of £1 to £5.

Oh, sh*t! I think I've just let the cat out of the proverbial bag, haven't I? Still, never mind! No harm done. As you're more than welcome to check out the following game of 'Spot the Funko'. All you have to do is look at the seven images below and try to spot the Funko Toy inserted within. Then once you've done that, read the accompanying fact, share this page, and click on toysforapound.com to see what they have in store. Trust me, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Plus you never know, you might find something that's as funky as Funko which isn't defunct. Please enjoy.

Avengers - 1
FUN FACT: Did you know that the creation of 'The Avengers' only came about when there was a printing delay on 'Daredevil' #1? At the time, Stan Lee wanted to compete with DC’s titular super-group, 'The Justice League of America', and so he quickly threw a bunch of heroes together to form a rival team.

Avengers - 2
FUN FACT: Marvel never copyrighted 'The Avengers' name until the 1970s, which was partly due to them being unsure of the group's longevity, and partly due to the British television series of the same name.

Avengers - 3
FUN FACT: Despite what you may see in the films, Captain America didn’t join the team until issue 4, circa March 1964, and only then after they saved him from his cryogenic slumber.

Avengers - 4
FUN FACT: The first major roster change happened in issue 16, circa May 1965, when Iron Man, Thor, The Wasp, and Ant-Man all left the book, only to be replaced by a number of previously established villains, namely, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch.

Avengers - 5
FUN FACT: 'The Avengers' name was initially coined by Ant-Man's wife, The Wasp, a.k.a. Janet van Dyne, and many comic book fans were upset when the films said otherwise.

Avengers - 6
FUN FACT: Throughout the years, characters like Spider-Man, Daredevil, and The Hulk, turned down multiple offers to join the team because they weren't very popular, both financially and among the fans.

Avengers - 7
FUN FACT: The first issue of 'The Avengers' and the first issue of 'Uncanny X-Men' hit the newsstands on exactly the same month, September 1963, which just so happens to have been the same month The White House confirmed President Kennedy's fateful trip to Dallas, Texas, later in the year.

In closing, I would just like to thank toysforapound.com and Funko for allowing me to use their resources in this article, before encouraging you to check out their respective sites.
