MARVEL CHARACTERS THAT MOONLIGHT IN MUSIC

Loki Shhhhh!!!!Did you know that our mates over at Marvel are mad about music? Well, they're not stark raving mad, per se, but a number of their characters do have a habit of popping up in a pop-song, jiving to some jazz, or hitting it hard with an ear full of heavy metal. In fact, this has happened so often throughout the years, that two online music companies have joined forces in order to see which Marvel superhero is mentioned the most in music.

Now, according to LyricFind (the world's leader in licensed lyrics), The Hulk is at the top of their list because he’s been featured in more lyrics than any other Avenger so far, totaling a colossal 182 mentions from songs all around the world. Next up is Iron Man, the metallic maestro himself, who blasts into second place with a total of 67 song mentions, and he’s quickly followed by the Nubian Knight, Black Panther, who bounces into the third spot with 44 mentions.

Here's a list of the Top Eight Avengers mentioned in popular music:
  1. The Hulk: 182.
  2. Iron Man: 67.
  3. Black Panther: 44.
  4. Captain America: 21.
  5. Thanos: 14.
  6. Loki: 13.
  7. Hawkeye: 10.
  8. Doctor Strange: 6.

When it comes down to the top-rated streaming songs, however, Deezer (a popular online music platform) has revealed that Iron Man leads the way in the UK, with him being named in the top-selling rap song, ‘Man Don’t Care’, which was produced by JME and featured Giggs. He's then swiftly pursued by his Civil War combatant, Captain America, who comes in at a close second, all thanks to the Guns N’ Roses classic, ‘Paradise City’, while The Hulk reference in Eminem’s smash hit, ‘My Name Is’, has earned the green giant third place.

Here's a list of the Top Five streaming songs that feature members of The Avengers:
  1. Man Don’t Care: Performed by JME (featuring  Giggs) -- Iron Man.
  2. Paradise City: Performed by Guns N’ Roses -- Captain America.
  3. My Name Is: Performed by Eminem -- The Hulk.
  4. X: Performed by Kendrick Lamar (featuring ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz & Saudi) -- Black Panther.
  5. Purple Hills: Performed by D12 (featuring Eminem) -- The Hulk.

Meanwhile, elsewhere around the globe, and you might like to know that The Hulk smashes the top spot in Spain with the Romeo Santos streaming song, ‘Héroe Favorito’, whereas in Germany, Iron Man’s mention in Dame’sAuf Die Guten Alten Zeiten’, takes the rusty one straight to the number one spot. And as for France? Well, in their case, Black Panther’s biggest hit slides into play care of Sofiane's Pas Le Choix’ (featuring Lartiste & Kaaris).

So there you have it, fellow comic book and music fans. The most mentioned Marvel characters sung in song! Out of curiosity, what’s your favorite song that references an Avenger? Or better yet, do you know of a superhero that should get their own lyrical lullaby? Either way, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment section below, and while you're at it, don't forget to check out Deezer and LyricFind, who I'd like to thank for allowing me to publish their findings.
