TIDALWAVE SPOTLIGHT: DAVE RYAN

Dave WalkenEvery Friday, since 2018, I've been posting a series of previews that showcase the comic books published by TidalWave Comics. Sometimes, these comics are biographies focused on famous people, such as Dolly Parton, for instance, the sassy singer, and at other times, they're bold and daring adventures starring fresh, new, characters. Want to know more? Then please check out the following interview I did with one of the artists that works at TidalWave, Dave Ryan.

1) Name three words that best describe who you are.   I would say I'm funny, creative, and knowledgeable.

Stan Lee2) How did you first become involved with TidalWave?   I've known Darren (the head of TidalWave) for years. But mainly as a creator, not as a publisher, so when we reconnected last year we just continued to inspire each other one comic at a time.

3) Which TidalWave project did you enjoy working on the most, and which was the least enjoyable?   I wouldn't say working on a project is unenjoyable, but it does take me a bit of time to get into the proper mood (moody artists, right? Ha!). I did like working on the Stan Lee comic book, though, especially drawing the sequential pages.

4) What song best describes your style of creativity and why?   To answer this question, I'd like to select the song performed by the Starland Vocal Band, 'Afternoon Delight', because after I drink a few cups of coffee and eat a yogurt, it's normally afternoon and I'm ready to start work, ha!

Muhammad Ali versus Sonny Liston
5) If you could get a celebrity – either living or dead – to promote your wares, who would you choose and why?
Most definitely, Christopher Walken, because even though I'm not sure he would help boost my sales, it would be great to hear him say my name and talk about my products with his distinctive voice.

6) Do you have any other projects lined up outside of TidalWave?   Yes, a few, as I self-publish and am currently working on the biggest indie crossover ever created, entitled, 'War of the Independents', and I also have some other projects in development as well.

And on that note, I would like to thank Dave for telling us about working at TidalWave Comics, before urging you to check out his Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
