Do you know why the chicken crossed the road? Well, it's because the chicken was a ninja and he was being pursued by a penguin that was dressed up as a pirate! Although, to be fair, both of these feathered fiends were fictitious characters featured in a fun-filled children's book created by Ray Friesen and published by Top Shelf Productions.





You see, since 2011, Ray has written and drawn a series of children's books -- three in total -- that pit a pirate penguin against a ninja chicken for the sake of all things jovial. The first book was released in 2011 and called, 'Pirate Penguin vs. Ninja Chicken: Troublems with Frenemies'. The second book was then released in 2016 with the altered subtitle, 'Escape from Skull-Fragment Island!'. And finally, the third book will be released on the 21st of September, 2021, under the name, 'Pirate Penguin vs. Ninja Chicken: Macaroni and BEES?!?'. About the author: Ray Friesen has been an avid writer and artist for most of his life, going so far as to self-publish his first comic book at the age of 12 years old, entitled, 'The Continuing Adventures of Raymond Q'.
