CHARLIE'S LONDON: FROM EAST LANE TO THE LIMELIGHT (A SILENT PREVIEW)

Charlie - CoverThere once was a chap called Charlie, who was creative, courageous, and somewhat gnarly. In fact, he was so gnarly, that he had a fight, with Chris Farley! Or was it just a fat man that ate too much barley? Either way, sit back, relax, and try to be like Bob Marley by giving some love to the following graphic novel dedicated to our mate Charlie! Or to be more specific about it, the late, great, master of comedy, Charlie Chaplin.

Well, for those of you not in the know, at the start of the twentieth century, Charlie Chaplin was a humble 'music hall comedian' from Walworth, South London, who one day managed to hit it big by becoming a major, Hollywood, movie star (mainly, throughout the period defined as the 'silent era'). However, Charlie's world was drastically changed during the HUAC trials of the nineteen-fifties (1952, to be more precise), when he was accused of being a 'communist sympathizer' and forced to openly declare his political leanings, otherwise, he was going to be kicked out of the United States of America.

So, what did he do next? What did Charlie Chaplin do next? While in London, patiently awaiting the premiere of his latest motion picture, 'Limelight'! Well, to calm his mind and unburden his soul, Charlie decided to take a walk through his old neighborhood and reminisce about the people he once knew and the life he almost forgot. Or in other words, here, have a look at this... ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘‡
