FROM THE PEN TO THE PRINTED PAGE (PART ONE) - COMIC BOOK ART BY ROD RODOLLFO

Superboy - CoverFrom the 27th of September, 2017, to the 10th of October, 2018, the artist, Rod Rodollfo, wrote a series of articles that explained some of the aspects associated with his chosen profession, including tips, tricks, and anything else connected with the art of illustration (click here to see the full list). Now, Rod's back, and this time, instead of telling us how to draw, he's going to show us some of his drawings.

The first selection he's going to show us comes from a wordless, fan-made comic book he co-created with the writer, T.A. Ewart. In it, we see a young Clark Kent walking home from school with his female friend, Lana Lang, when suddenly, he's accosted by a mysterious woman with a set of remarkable abilities. So go on ๐Ÿ‘‡, check it out ๐Ÿ‘€, and see for yourself how Rod and T.A. managed to tell a somewhat suspenseful story in only six pages!

The second sequence Rod has kindly allowed us to look at features the Dark Knight Detective, Batman, doing what he always does best... save lives, beat up the bad guys, and look really cool in the process. Now try to pay close attention to the overall pacing of this wordless, black-and-white sequence, as it starts off with a dramatic splash page that sets the tone for the theatrical events ahead!
