PRESENTING... BLACK ADAM - THE JUSTICE SOCIETY FILES

Black Adam and the JSA - Art 1To coincide with the release of the upcoming 'Black Adam' film (in theatres on the 21st of October, 2022), DC Comics are planning to publish a series of comic book one-shots so fans can learn about the titular character as well as the other heroes who will also star in the aforementioned film.

So far, only a few details are known about the 'Black Adam' film. Mainly, that it revolves around a mystical antihero, named Teth-Adam (as played by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson), who confronts a group of superheroes because he's been in prison for the past 5000 years and is now free to impose his unique version of order on the modern world. Doctor Fate


Doctor Fate (a.k.a. Kent Nelson)
First comic book appearance: More Fun Comics #55 (May 1940)
Abilities: A large range of mystical abilities that derive from a supernatural being named Nabu.
Played by: Pierce Brosnan, who's an Irish actor born in Drogheda, County Louth, on the 16th of May, 1953. He's generally known for his role as the British spy, James Bond, and more recently, starring in the two 'Mamma Mia!' films.


Cyclone


Cyclone (a.k.a. Maxine Hunkel)
First comic book appearance: Justice Society of America #1 (December 2006)
Abilities: Flight, wind manipulation, and sound wave control.
Played by: Quintessa Swindell, who's a nonbinary actor born in New York, USA, on the 8th of February, 1997. Quintessa made her acting debut in 2019, playing Anna in the HBO TV series, 'Euphoria', before starring in the Netflix teen drama, 'Trinkets'.


Hawkman


Hawkman (a.k.a. Carter Hall)
First comic book appearance: Flash Comics #1 (January 1940)
Abilities: Flight, reincarnation, limited physical regeneration, and enhanced strength and eyesight.
Played by: Aldis Hodge, who's an American actor born in Onslow County, North Carolina, on the 20th of September, 1986. He's perhaps best known for his role as Noah in the WGN hit series, 'Underground', as well as for his portrayal of the American footballer, Jim Brown, in the 2020 film, 'One Night in Miami'.


Atom Smasher


Atom Smasher (a.k.a. Albert Rothstein)
First comic book appearance: All-Star Squadron #25 (September 1983)
Abilities: Growth with increased strength, stamina, speed, and durability.
Played by: Noah Centineo, who's an American actor and model born in Miami, Florida, on the 9th of May, 1996. In 2017, he was nominated for a Teen Choice Award (Choice Summer TV Star: Male) for his performance in the TV show, 'The Fosters', plus he received some praise for his appearance in the 2014 Disney movie, 'How to Build a Better Boy'.




Black Adam and the JSA - Art 2
To accompany the 'Black Adam' film, DC Comics are planning to release a series of comic books, entitled, 'Black Adam – The Justice Society Files', that profiles the individual members of The Justice Society, along with their connection to Black Adam. Each issue features a main story by the writer, Cavan Scott, plus a backup story devised by Bryan Q. Miller. A backup story that charts the path of Teth-Adam, from slave, to prisoner, to becoming the titular antihero.

Each issue of 'Black Adam – The Justice Society Files' also comes with a choice of two covers. One is a breathtaking cover illustrated by the artist, Kaare Andrews, while the other is a photo variant cover featuring the actor who's playing the corresponding member of The Justice Society (see images above).
