BOND 25 - CELEBRATING 60 YEARS OF JAMES BOND ON FILM AND IN SONG

Bond 25 - CoverThe 5th of October, 2022, marks the 60th anniversary for the James Bond film franchise. So, to celebrate, Decca Records has released an album featuring the iconic themes from each Bond film, 25 in total, all expertly reimagined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The album, aptly titled, 'Bond 25', was recorded in 2019 at Abbey Road Studios, London, and includes new arrangements for each film's title theme, such as 'Thunderball' (1965), 'Live and Let Die' (1973), and 'GoldenEye' (1995). The album's tracklist (see below) has been arranged in chronological order, starting from the first Bond film, 'Dr. No' (1962), all the way to the most recent one, 'No Time to Die' (2021), and it's available on CD, vinyl, and digital formats.

In addition to this, Decca Records has also released, 'Bond 25 CD Bundle' edition. It contains the previously mentioned album, 'Bond 25', along with Hans Zimmer's album for the latest James Bond film, 'No Time to Die', which features Billie Eilish's electrifying title track as well as scores from the composers, Johnny Marr and Steve Mazzaro.

The Sound of 007
Similarly, Apple has something to release in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary for the James Bond film franchise. Although, in their case, it's a documentary, entitled, 'The Sound of 007', which chronicles the remarkable six-decade history of James Bond music with the use of interviews and archive material (trailer below).

It was directed by the English filmmaker, Mat Whitecross, who previously directed the Ian Dury biopic, 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' (2010), as well as music documentaries about the bands, Oasis (2016) and Coldplay (2018). You also might like to know that some of the people interviewed for the aforementioned Bond documentary, include, Daniel Craig, Rami Malek, Michael Caine, Naomie Harris, Sam Mendes, and Hans Zimmer.
