THE POST-PUNK / NEW WAVE SUPER FRIENDS BY BUTCHER BILLY

Cover Billy Mariano da Luz (aka Butcher Billy) is an artist and graphic designer from Curitiba, Brazil, who's probably best known for his trendy art pieces and his series of illustrations based on the contemporary pop art movement. Most of his work appears to be influenced by two distinct styles, a vintage comic book style and an urban street art style, both of which help him showcase popular references in his creations. To see an example of this, here ๐Ÿ‘‡, have a look at the following image gallery he produced, entitled, 'The Post-Punk / New Wave Super Friends', which consists of a series of comic book covers featuring popular heroes from the DC Universe amalgamated with a selection of musicians associated with either the post-punk or new wave genres.

Billy's artwork started to get noticed on the internet in 2012, and since then, it's been featured in exhibitions and contemporary art galleries all around the world, ranging from London all the way to Dubai. This led him to be hired as an artist by a number of notable companies, such as ESPN, Foot Locker, and British Gas. But most notably, publishers have likewise engaged his services to reimagine contemporary covers for several famous novels, including 'A Clockwork Orange', 'Jurassic Park', and 'Planet of the Apes'.
