Forbidden planet

1) Name three words that best describe who you are.   I'd say, nerdy, goofy, and lucky.

2) What inspired you to create, 'The Experiments'?   I co-created 'The Experiments' with the illustrator, Lee J. Giles, by devising a story about what it's like to be different, yet telling it in a way that hasn't been done before. Sometimes, being different can make you feel ugly, freakish, and alone. But generally, people who are different are brave and have a lot to overcome, which to me, is pretty badass.

3) In your own words, how would you describe your story?   At its core, the story follows a group of people who were designed to be monsters but want nothing more than to prove they're not. Together, they fight an uphill battle against years of torture, programming, and DNA manipulation in hopes of regaining the humanity that was stolen from them.

4) What song would you say best represents 'The Experiments' and why?   To answer this question, I'd like to select the song, 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood', sung by Nina Simone. This song reminds me of our cast of characters, who all desperately want to return to society and see their loved ones again, but fear that people will only see the freaks they've become. To quote the song, 'But I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood'.

The Experiment - 3
5) If you could get a celebrity - either living or dead - to promote your wares, who would you choose, and why would you want to choose this particular person?   I'd choose the late, great, David Bowie because he was different and didn't hide it from the public. I think showing that to the world helped a lot of people who are different realize that being different is an incredible thing. Our story and our heroes are different, and I think he would truly understand that.

6) What's the one thing about 'The Experiments' that might surprise people?   Nowadays, most people are used to seeing teams consisting entirely of heroes, villains, or anti-heroes. In our case, though, our team is a bit more complicated, as we have a cop and a serial killer on the same team, which I'm sure isn't ideal for either of them.
