HOMES OF THE RICH AND FAMOUS - DEAD CELEBRITY EDITION

John Barrymoore ArtI wrote my first article about the homes of the rich and famous on the 14th of January, 2021 (click here to peruse the whole series), and since then, I've discovered three things that I never knew before. Firstly, that some celebrities change their homes more than some people change their pants. Secondly, celebrity homes are generally very difficult to clean due to their grand size and design. And thirdly, I really enjoy writing this type of article. So much so, in fact, that I've now written another one focused on the homes of five acting legends who are no longer with us. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘‡ Please enjoy.

W. C. Fields
Full Name:
W. C. Fields / Known For: Juggling, acting, and drinking
Date of Birth: January 29, 1880 / Place of Birth: Pennsylvania, U.S.
Year They Started Their Career: 1898
Some of Their Notable Films: It's a Gift (1934), Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941), and My Little Chickadee (1940)
Value of Their Property in 2021: $15 million
Associated Trivia: As Sean stated in the video, W. C. Fields's old mansion is located within a gated community in Laughlin Park, Los Angeles, and surrounded by homes now owned by a variety of different celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, and Emma Roberts. But what he failed to mention is what W. C. Fields is best known for! Well, once upon a time, William Claude Dukenfield was a hard-drinking, no-nonsense, vaudevillian who earned a living by juggling on the stage. But after a while, he managed to evolve into a world-famous comedian who performed on the big screen. Heck, he was so famous, that he inspired the creation of the cartoon character, Mr. Magoo, as well as many other comedians who followed in his footsteps.

Jack Lemmon
Full Name:
Jack Lemmon / Known For: Acting on stage and screen
Date of Birth: February 8, 1925 / Place of Birth: Massachusetts, U.S.
Year They Started Their Career: 1949
Some of Their Notable Films: The Apartment (1960), Some Like It Hot (1959), and Grumpy Old Men (1993)
Value of Their Property in 2021: $13.45 million
Associated Trivia: Even though Malibu is generally known for its amazing beaches, its scenic views, and its celebrity homes -- like the one owned by the late, great, Jack Lemmon -- in addition to this, it's also known to be prone to natural disasters, ranging from seasonal rainstorms to unstable terrains, and occasionally, dry winds blowing in from Santa Ana. It's still a marvelous city, though, and only 27 miles long.

Frank Sinatra
Full Name:
Frank Sinatra / Known For: Singing and acting
Date of Birth: December 12, 1915 / Place of Birth: New Jersey, U.S.
Year They Started Their Career: 1935
Some of Their Notable Films: The Manchurian Candidate (1962), From Here to Eternity (1953), and The Man with the Golden Arm (1955)
Value of Their Property in 2021: $4.25 million
Associated Trivia: Many, many years before Frank Sinatra called it home, Palm Desert belonged to an ancient tribe of Indians who occupied the area for approximately 10,000 years. They were called the Cahuilla tribe, and according to certain sources, some of them were farmers who planted crops on their land until it was eventually taken over by the settlers. Crops like the date palm, for instance, which inspired its American name.

John Barrymore
Full Name:
John Barrymore / Known For: Acting on both stage and screen
Date of Birth: February 14, 1882 / Place of Birth: Pennsylvania, U.S.
Year They Started Their Career: 1900
Some of Their Notable Films: Twentieth Century (1934), Dinner at Eight (1933), and Grand Hotel (1932)
Value of Their Property in 2020: $15.9 million
Associated Trivia: In 1828, the area we now call Beverly Hills was a fairly modest piece of land where farmers grew lima beans in order to make some money. But in 1914, everything started to change when it was incorporated as an independent city. In fact, it changed so much, that nowadays, Beverly Hills is probably best known as the home of the rich and famous, including people like Simon Cowell, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Sandra Bullock, Jessica Alba, and let's not forget, Drew's grandfather and W. C. Fields's old drinking-buddy, John Barrymore.

In closing, I'd like to thank Sean and his team over at toptenrealestatedeals.com for allowing me to feature their videos in this article, before encouraging you to check out their official Website, Facebook, and Twitter pages.
