Last year Marvel made over $2.4 billion at the box office and gained a 73 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In comparison, DC Comics took home $1.1 billion at the box office and received a 48 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This, despite the fact that Marvel only produced four films in 2017, compared to nine for DC!
So what does any of this mean in real terms? That Marvel are doing a lot better than DC? Yes. Up to a point they are. But in addition to this, these financial facts also prove that the world of cinema has been dominated by the superhero film genre. So much so, that people are starting to wonder how much longer this is going to last.

But in addition to this, these financial facts also prove that the world of cinema has been dominated by the superhero film genre. Well, let's face it, in the past two years, the silver-screen has been swamped by so many superheroes (totaling 18 movies made by either Marvel, DC, or another production company), that the general public can't decide which way to turn. Should they turn to Marvel, because they're expected to release an unprecedented eight superhero films this year? Or should they turn to DC, who are expected to release just one? Either way, Marvel and DC are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, even though finder.com, the UK's fastest-growing comparison site, has been able to settle this debate by researching, collecting, and organizing relevant data, related to a film's rating and box office totals, without forgetting to mention how many times each of their characters have appeared on TV or cinema. Here, check out the following two lists and tell me what you think. Each list has been arranged in alphabetical order and formatted in a clear and concise manner.
