DC PREVIEW: LAZARUS PLANET ALPHA #1

On the 10th of January, 2023, DC Comics released the opening installment for their first major crossover event of the year. It's called, 'Lazarus Planet: Alpha' #1, and it sees the heroes of the DCU dealing with the aftermath of 'Batman vs. Robin' #4. An aftermath, I hasten to add, that was instigated when the Lazarus Volcano started to spew dangerous and transformative chemicals into the earth's atmosphere, which caused bizarre weather patterns, numerous disasters, and people across the globe developing strange new abilities. This 48-page one-shot was written by Mark Waid, illustrated by Riccardo Federici, and comes with a backup feature starring the Monkey Prince created by Gene Luen Yang and Billy Tan. It also comes with a series of variant covers drawn by a number of notable artists, including Francesco Mattina, Mateus Manhanini, Nathan Szerdy, Jorge Corona, Scott Godlewski, John Giang, A.L.
