CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF LAUGHTER WITH THE LAUREL AND HARDY EXHIBIT AT THE HOLLYWOOD MUSEUM

Laurel and Hardy - Title Fans of the classic comedy double act, Laurel and Hardy, may like to know that the Hollywood Museum is hosting an ongoing exhibit celebrating their joint cinematic legacy. The exhibit premiered on April 9, 2026, and it was attended by many notable figures, including Stan Laurel's great-granddaughter, Cassidy Cook; the president of the Hollywood Museum, Donelle Dadigan; and several well-known actors, such as Michele Lee, Kathy Garver, and Rico E. Anderson.

Also in attendance was the film historian and author, Richard S. Greene, who was kind enough to allow me to share some of his photographs (take a look at those provided).

What's in the exhibit? The exhibit features many items used in films starring Laurel and Hardy, such as costumes from 'Bonnie Scotland', 'Way Out West', and 'The Bullfighters', along with props from 'Brats' and 'Sons of the Desert'. The exhibit also includes Stan Laurel's makeup case, Stan and Ollie's iconic bowler hats, as well as posters, scripts, photos, merchandise, and other paraphernalia associated with their comical career.

Where is the museum located? The museum is located inside the historic Max Factor Building, situated at 1660 North Highland Avenue, Hollywood, California, USA. The doors are normally open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although times vary during public holidays.

What else is at the museum? The museum consists of four floors containing over ten thousand authentic artifacts from Hollywood's cinematic history. Some of the key permanent and rotating highlights include:

(+) The Dungeon of Doom: Located in the basement, this area features Hannibal Lecter's original cell from 'The Silence of the Lambs' as well as props and garments from many other horror films, such as 'Psycho' and 'The Exorcist'.

(+) The Marilyn Monroe Exhibit: This part of the museum displays Marilyn's personal effects and famous outfits, including her 'million-dollar dress' and photos taken throughout her career.

(+) Max Factor's Makeup Rooms: These are the original rooms where such stars as Lucille Ball and Judy Garland had their looks created.

(+) Superhero Exhibits: There are several rooms featuring original costumes and props from films and TV shows starring many popular comic-book characters, ranging from Batman to Superman to Wonder Woman.

How much for entry? The price of admission is $15 for adults, $5 for children aged five and under, and $12 for students and seniors over sixty-five.
