FOUR TIMES DC COMICS HAS REIMAGINED ICONIC HOLLYWOOD ACTORS

DC Reimagined I've previously written several articles listing comic books featuring different types of celebrities, including comedians, talk show hosts, and American presidents (click on the links provided to check out the corresponding articles). So, to mix things up a bit, I thought that it would be a jolly good idea to write a similar article, but this time list comic books published by DC Comics that feature reimagined versions of iconic Hollywood actors. Iconic actors appearing in the comic book: Five actors made a brief appearance in the aforementioned comic book, including Spencer Tracy, who's probably best known for starring in nine films with the actress, Katharine Hepburn, such as 'Adam's Rib' (1949); Edward G. Robinson, who in the 1930s famously played gangsters in films like 'Little Caesar' (1931); Charlie Chaplin, who starred in many silent films and a few with sound, such as 'The Great Dictator' (1940); Harpo Marx, who alongside his brothers, Groucho and Chico, starred in fifteen films together, most notably, 'A Night at the Opera' (1935); and an unknown cowboy actor whose name isn't mentioned / Summary of the story: Earth and the planet Rann come under attack by an evil alien named Bork, who plans to destroy them both. So, to stop this from happening, a large group of heroes fight against his forces to save the day. But can they succeed? Can these heroes overcome Bork's machinations? After all, Bork comes from the planet Molanto and is the founder of a group of aliens whose souls inhabit people after they die, among them, Spencer, Edward, Charlie, and Harpo.

Iconic actor appearing in the comic book: The American actress, model, and singer, Marilyn Monroe, who's generally remembered for playing sexy characters in such classic films as 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' (1953) and 'Some Like It Hot' (1959) / Summary of the story: Summoned by supernatural forces, Swamp Thing arrives in an alternate version of the Earth where Nazi Germany has taken over the world. While there, it's revealed that Hitler is none other than Alois Hitler and that his wife is a lady named Norma Jean Baker, who's commonly known as Marilyn Monroe in other versions of the Earth. What then ensues results in death, rebirth, and mayhem on a mass scale.

Iconic actor appearing in the comic book: The Hong Kong and American martial artist, actor, filmmaker, and philosopher, Bruce Lee, who's probably best known for starring in the television show, 'The Green Hornet' (1966 to 1967), and the action film, 'Enter the Dragon' (1973) / Summary of the story: One night, a group of aliens arrive in Gotham City and briskly abduct Batman. Or do they? Do they manage to abduct him, along with some of the other people living in Gotham? To find out, Batman has to battle his way through a number of surreal adversaries, including one who resembles Bruce Lee, in order to uncover what's really happening and how it's connected to a new villain known as The Kook.

Iconic actor appearing in the comic book: The American singer and actor, Elvis Presley, who starred in over thirty films throughout his career, such as 'Jailhouse Rock' (1957) and 'Viva Las Vegas' (1964) / Summary of the story: Once upon a time on Earth-1098, two brave heroes, Supergirl and Batgirl, are prompted to team-up and save Lex Luthor from someone who believes that Lex has taken credit for his discoveries, Emil Hamilton, who in turn is assisted by a genetically enhanced Joker. Along the way, these two heroes get to know each other and discover shocking secrets about Lex. However, the most shocking revelation just might be the sight of Elvis Presley as the president of the United States of America.
